Mowry, Jonathan, NY Province, Joined the Army on Hudson River and enlisted in Loyal American Regt, leaving property in possession of his wife. On 16 Dec 1777 she and her four children were sent into NY, where she caught smallpox and died 23 Jan 1778. Claimant served as Sgt and was disbanded in NB 6 Oct 1783 with two sons who had also served as soldiers. Memorial 20 Feb 1786 St John's Claim: 29 acres; cattle, etc. rejected (A013/21/307-310)
